Module # 5: Flickr and Photo Sharing.
I'm missing England today, so the photo I picked is of Harlaxton Manor, the manor house where I spent my semester abroad. Harlaxton Manor is located a few miles out of Grantham, a small town in Lincolnshire, England. I spent the Spring semester of 2010 there with about 150 American students. During this time, I traveled around the UK visiting Edinburgh, Loch Ness, Stratford-upon-Avon, and Cardiff, among other locations. My experience at Harlaxton was amazing! I met so many different people from all over the United States and immersed myself in the English culture, which was my primary goal.
For some reason, I have a hard time figuring out photo sharing websites...they just don't make sense to me, so I went ahead and took the tour on Flickr to see the different features available. The tour was really nice and broke down all the features with brightly colored numbers. Personally, I don't do pictures that much (with the exception of my semester abroad), so using Facebook to add, tag, and share is fine with me. However flickr would be nice to use for people who aren't on my Facebook. (actually, almost everyone that would want to see my pictures are on Facebook...) I did see a cool feature where you could Map out your pictures
Below I have added a link for an album for the grounds of Harlaxton. Isn't it beautiful? Unfortunately, I could not use one of the pictures from the Harlaxton Flickr account, so I added one from my personal collection on Facebook.
